A State of Emergency is in effect for Massachusetts until 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2026, due to a severe blizzard bringing 12-24 inches of snow and 50-70 mph wind gusts. Officials warn of life-threatening, treacherous travel conditions, urge staying home, and expect power outages.
Out of an abundance of caution to safeguard the safety of the children and families we serve and our personnel, WCEC will be closed on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Please be safe.
*If your child is in Home Based Child Care (HBCC): Please check with your respective provider regarding their closure, schedule, or availability.
The WCEC offers early education and care services to families with children from age 4 weeks to 13 years old. Two Centers and a Home Based Child Care network cares for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and children in need of a year-round School-Age Program. We service the Greater Worcester Community in Central Massachusetts and are open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, 12 months a year.
